#Take back the Falls

Happy 25th birthday, Dipper and Mabel 🥳

It's crazy to think Gravity Falls itself is now as old as the twins were that summer and in turn, that same amount of time has now past since. Though we may all grow old as time goes on, our love for them and Gravity Falls will never end!

It's been quite a summer. From the Book of Bill, the website, Gravity Falls having a resurgence in popularity not seen since it ended and so much more. It's been an incredible adventure to see and like every summer, we end it celebrating the birthday of, to quote Alex Hirsch, "the cartoon babies that live in my brain."

I say it every year, but who knows what is to come till the next summer (ours...not GF's as that's not happening, lol). Will we get a new Gravity Falls book announced with BoB's success showing Disney it's worth it? Will Alex Hirsch's Netflix projects finally get out of development hell and happen? Will I still be here? Will Gravity Falls' fandom still be as thriving or will it decline back to the semi popular state it was before? Who knows. But whatever happens next, I am grateful to have experienced yet again a chance to see the GF fandom feel like it was alive again to the same extent as if a new episode was airing.

I was not here for those days. I barely got to experience that in 2018 with Lost Legends. So, in a large sense, this whole experience was as new for me, a now 7 year long member of the fandom, as it was for a fan who just joined this summer. Despite the ups and downs, I'll take these memories with me and cherish them for many years to come and till the end. From the book of Bill PR, the codes and deciphering them, helping Alex Hirsch curb leaks (I'll discuss that in a future video, lol), waiting for the website to reveal its secrets and more. It's been amazing.

Happy birthday, Dipper and Mabel. Here's to another great summer and for another amazing season of memories made.

I'm looking at all these sweaters online, and wished there was a line of GOOD Gravity Falls sweaters(yes, I've seen the pilot episode Mabel one), because there are so many that could be made, like:

*The one from NWHS when Mabel said "I trust you."

*A Ford sweater with his Journal hand

*The "Goodbye Stan" sweater

*A Summerween one

*A DD&MD themed one

*A "Take Back the Falls" flag one

Basically, anything from the show. And yes, this eats at me just a tad.

Gotta love how the central conflict of ‘Take Back The Falls’, or what I like to call the Equation Situation, literally boils down to being one giant game of ‘I know something you don’t knowww’

Oh, but this time the integrity of the entire multiverse is at stake, so you Pines Twins better not loose your nerve-!

I was just thinking about the finale and…what on Earth must have been going through Stan’s mind, in those few minutes we don’t see between the hugging scene and the return to the Mystery Shack? Bad enough to realize you are surrounded by strangers in the middle of nowhere, then to realize they all seem to know you when you don’t know them, and then to realize you don’t know yourself, either…and then, apparently, Strange Weepy Suit Man demands your clothes and glasses?

Like, I know why, from an animation standpoint, Stan and Ford were back in their usual attire by the second scene. I also know why the show did not acknowledge this switch back in any way - it couldn’t help but introduce the scene to at least some degree of farce, and while real life has those farcical interludes in the midst of tragedy, it would have just been in poor taste to stick one in *there,* in *that scene,* in literature…but I just can’t help but wonder about what it all looked like from Stan’s point of view. First this total stranger, who is apparently dressed completely inappropriately for the middle of a forest, declares probably-you (‘Stan’ rings no bells, but people keep looking at you when they say it…) a hero and gets weepy-huggy about it. Uncomfortable. Then in the midst of it, he asks for his sweater and glasses back, and after a five-second delay you realize he’s referring to your things and also, therefore, trying to persuade you to wear a suit jacket in the middle of an overgrown forest in the middle of nowhere, as if that made any sense….

Or maybe Stan complained about the crack in ‘his’ glasses and this led to attempts to explain that ‘his’ things weren’t actually his. Either way, though…dang.

So, yeah. These are the kinds of pointless details that keep me awake at night.

Ooohh my god, I just finished watching take back the falls. I'm pretty certain I only watched it one other time, when it first aired. I can see why I only watched it the one time, it's a PILL!!!! I didn't cry, but I was staring at the screen like 🥺 the whole time. The goodbyes at the end!!?@?!?@,!, I fucking cant!!!!!!!!!

New Gravity Falls fans, especially after The Book of Bill, will never know the eyes-popping-out-of-head sensation of watching Take Back the Falls and seeing Bill hold the Pines twins and gleefully, casually say “I think I’m gonna kill one of them, now! Just for the heck of it!”

I made those birthday hats back in 2017 for a collaborative project I did on GFA where me and other members on there made a card for the twins. It was a lot of fun and I've kept them since to bring out every August 31st. It's a little connection to my early days in the fandom.

I feel like I'm going crazy but does anybody else remember the gobblewonker on the shacktron breathing fire????

I've combed the episode multiple times but I just. Can't find the scene im thinking of

It was a scene where an eyebat flies next to the gobblewonker head, slightly behind, and the gobblewonker head turns around and blasts fire at it, causing it to dissolve into ash

Is this just a weird made up memory or do other people remember this happening???
